The Elder Scrolls 6 Announcement Won’t Come for a ‘Very Long Time’

Bethesda has been the most talked about developer in gaming since their E3 2015 announcement of Fallout 4. The extremely highly anticipated title was a long time in the making, following the release of Bethesda’s other major franchise, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Now it seems that due to work on Fallout 4, we shouldn’t expect any word on The Elder Scrolls 6 for a “very long time.”

This news comes from Bethesda’s VP of Marketing, Pete Hines, who spoke with DualShockers while at Gamescom last week. Hines specifically said that it will be a “very long time” until Bethesda even speaks about what they’ll be working on after Fallout 4.

While Fallout 4 is scheduled to release on November 10th of this year, the team is still hard at work on the game, and will have more to do after launch. They still need to finish development, complete bug testing, and get the mod support ready for both PC and console.

Once that is done there is the requisite DLC that will be created and released after the game has hit store shelves. Depending on how many DLC expansions are developed for Fallout 4, it could be some time before the team is able to fully transition to work on a possible Elder Scrolls 6.

Fallout 4 hits PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 10th.
