Lets face it, video game titles can either make or break a first impression of the players aspect. Activision doesn’t seem to hold this in high regard as it has been revealed that the 2019 Call of Duty game’s official title will in fact be: Modern Warfare. Of course, not to be confused with the original Modern Warfare, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, or the enhanced remake, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered.
Well known video game aficionado LongSensation leaked the name of the game, which makes sense as the company has been showing off parts of the game to select members of social media this past week. Then, Jason Schreier of Kotaku back up this claim with his own response, more or less confirming that this will be the name for the next entry. Inexplicably, Activision and Infinity Ward seem to be sticking to this name, which will only help the convoluted and redundant headers that the series has become known for.
Each and every year the rumors of the latest Call of Duty game swirl the internet like a bad virus, and while most of it turns out to be true, one thing always sticks out in peoples mind; when is it coming out? Turns out, we’re going to find out very soon as another source has claimed that the reveal of Modern Warfare will be this upcoming Thursday, May 30. Unfortunately, no further information was obtained, however it definitely fits in with past Call of Duty reveals as they have always been on a Thursday in the month of May/June.
While this is exciting, this isn’t the only story in which Activision or their development studios have been in the headlines as of late. Just last week we reported that due to complications within Sledgehammer and Raven Software, Activision decided that Treyarch will be next studio to complete their Call of Duty game. This essentially made the 2020 Call of Duty title the next iteration of the Black Ops series. We’ll just have to see where both franchises go from here.
