Focus Home Interactive and Deck 13 are teaming back up for a sequel to 2017’s The Surge.  In an announcement on Facebook, the developers have promised a bigger, more ambitious game than the first title which gathered some critical praise when it released last year.

“With larger and more ambitious level design, more brutal combat, and an expanded limb-targeting system, you’ll need the even larger arsenal and array of abilities to overcome the new enemies and bosses!,” reads a post on their Facebook page.

So when is The Surge 2 going to release?  Right now they say that the game will come to consoles and PC in 2019.

Last year we reviewed The Surge and gave it a 4/5.  We cited the game’s unique spin on combat and customization as high points for the Souls-like title.  While the game did draw inspiration from the Dark Souls series, the completely new setting was something quite refreshing.

Look for more details as they arrive on The Surge 2.
