There Could Be More Batman Games After Arkham Knight

Even though the Arkham Knight marked the end of the Arkham games, this hasn’t stopped Warner Bros. from thinking of making more Batman video games.

As we all know, Rocksteady ended its excellent Arkham games with the release of Batman: Arkham Knight. However, Warner Bros. feels there’s more that can be done with the Batman character.

Warner Bros. game boss, Ames Kirshen, spoke to PlayStation Blog about the possibility of making more Batman games even after the release of Arkham Knight this year.

Kirshen said the character is “one of the cornerstone IPs for Warner Bros“. He says there are no announcements to be made yet, but “the possibilities are endless with a character as dynamic and beloved as Batman“.

Even though Rocksteady won’t be making anymore Dark Knight video games, Warner Bros. could reboot the character and give another developer a crack at making a their own version of the caped crusader.

This is similar to the film world when you think about it. Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy ended with The Dark Knight Rises in 2012. Now we are getting a reboot with Ben Affleck as Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice directed by Zack Snyder.

It would be quite entertaining if the next Batman game is based off of the Ben Affleck version. A Batman vs Superman game would be interesting to see.
