Despite the recent reboot of Tomb Raider releasing to critical acclaim just a few short weeks ago, Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix may be readying the next installment in the franchise. A new trademark has been discovered for “Lara Croft: Revelations”, it’s purpose is vague according to the filing.
Discovered earlier by SiliconEra, it’s unclear what this trademark filing could be for. With the Tomb Raider brand stretching into other media, like movies, it could be anything. It wouldn’t be a stretch to think that Square would look to strike while the iron is hot though, and possibly introduce Tomb Raider as a yearly franchise.
Then again, this filing could just be for an expansion to the single player storyline. It was announced earlier this week that Tomb Raider DLC would be multiplayer-centric, but comments left the door open for a deviation from this plan.
