Konami has extended its exclusive UEFA license and it will be in EPS 2016 and beyond. The license will not appear in FIFA 16.
Konami sent out a press release confirming the UEFA license is staying with PES 2016 and beyond. Both Konami and UEFA extended extended their exclusive agreement for the next three years.
PES 2016 and future games will have the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and UEFA Europa League. If you love those tournaments, you have to buy the PES games to experience them fully.
This ends the rumors that EA Sports managed to acquire the UEFA license for FIFA 16. Some people speculated the PES franchise got cancelled, so EA Sports managed to negotiate a deal. Alas, we know this is not the case.
The UEFA license is the biggest set of tournaments that EA Sports has not been able to get. Konami has made it exclusive to the PES series for many years, and it will stay there for the next three years.
PES 2016 will be out later this year and is said to have a release date much earlier than November. FIFA 16 will also be out in 2015 sometime in September.
