Dead Rising 4 and The Last Guardian were two of the biggest releases left for 2016, and now that they’re respective launch weeks are over we’re getting an idea regarding how they sold. While both of the games did well enough to make it into the top 10 in the UK sales chart, they were beaten by other games that have been out for a while for the top slots.
Dead Rising 4 managed to snag the #5 spot in the UK charts, whereas The Last Guardian debuted at #7. This isn’t altogether surprising considering the popularity of the Dead Rising brand, though The Last Guardian did have a lot of hype building up due to its long development time. Both games were topped by another long awaited release in Final Fantasy 15, which made it to the #4 spot this week.
As for the top 3 slots, this is the part where things get predictable. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare took the #1 spot, with FIFA 17 and Battlefield 1 taking the #2 and # 3 slots, respectively. The following is the complete top 10 UK titles:
(1) Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
(2) FIFA 17
(3) Battlefield 1
(4) Final Fantasy 15
(5) Dead Rising 4
(6) Watch Dogs 2
(7) The Last Guardian
(8) Pokemon Sun
(9) The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition
(10) Pokemon Moon
The fact that Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is back in the top spot is definitely good news for the Call of Duty series, as it was recently revealed that that game sold nearly 50% less compared to what Black Ops 3 did last year during November. This is largely due to the negative reception that Infinite Warfare received with its reveal, with the game continuing with the futuristic direction that has been very divisive with fans.
