Naughty Dog and Sony have announced another Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Beta, with this one specifically looking to stress test all of the servers that will manage the game’s online components. Stress tests require a lot of people, all online at the same time, so the usual PS Plus restrictions have been lifted for this beta. Anyone with a PS4 can download and play the Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Beta starting this weekend.
“We need your help to do all we can to have a smooth launch of our online Multiplayer mode,” said Uncharted 4 Lead Game Designer Robert Cogburn. “We will be hosting a Multiplayer Stress Test this weekend where the goal is to get as many people as possible playing in the Uncharted 4 Multiplayer mode to test our networking, our matchmaking, and more.”
The event will kick off on March 4th, 2016, at 9:00 AM Pacific, and will end on March 6th, 2016, at 11:59 PM Pacific. Those interested can grab the Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Stress Test client on the PlayStation Store later today.
Naughty Dog wishes to emphasize that while players will get to try out the game, this is specifically meant to test the game under extreme situations. They should not take this as a true representation of what the final product will deliver. If there are bugs or crashes, it just means the test is working as it needs to, with the developer finding these problems and hopefully getting them fixed before the game ships.
Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End hits PS4 on April 26th.
