Uncharted 4’s Multiplayer Looks…Different, Runs at 900p/60FPS

We got our first glimpse of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End multiplayer a little earlier today at Sony’s Paris Games Week keynote. Although hardly the main draw of the Uncharted games, the multiplayer has often found a significant following and Uncharted 4’s multiplayer promises to pick up from where Uncharted 3’s left off… but there are a few twists.

The Uncharted series is no stranger to the supernatural, but to see fan favorite Elena spontaneously combust and teleport is, to say the least, a little odd. Odd too is the summoning of a totem, which seemed to release a magical power of some sort. For a game so grounded in reality, it’s jarring, yet strangely awesome.

Confirmed also was the release date of Uncharted 4’s multiplayer beta, which will run from December 4th to December 13th. Uncharted 4, of course, is to be released in March 2016. Finally, Naughty Dog confirmed that the game’s multiplayer will run at a smooth 60fps, but at the cost of a sub-1080p resolution, with 900p confirmed, (thanks, Eurogamer). By comparison, Uncharted 4’s single-player campaign will run at 1080p and 30FPS.
