The latest game in Naughty Dog’s massively popular Uncharted series is ready to ship with the developer announcing that Uncharted: The Lost Legacy has gone gold. This milestone comes over a month before the final release date, giving the developer plenty of time to polish the game with an almost certain day one update.

While work will continue, as it always does for games these days, going gold is a big moment for every game’s release. Principle development is done and the game’s code is off to the publisher for production. Discs will now be pressed and prepared for shipment to retailers, and gamers can rest assured that a delay is almost an impossibility.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy follows the latest game in the series with a big departure from franchise norms. Taking the action away from Nathan Drake, The Lost Legacy gives players a better look at Chloe Frazer as she adventures to find the Tusk of Ganesh. To find this elusive item she’ll team up with Nadine Ross, a mercenary.

Naughty Dog has pretty much nailed every single Uncharted title, so fans are understandably excited for this spin off game. It arrives on PS4 on August 22nd, so get ready to jump back into this world of ancient artifacts, action, and adventure.
