An Upcoming Rocket League Update Will Include A Basketball Mode

Psyonix has teased that a new basketball mode will be included in an upcoming update for Rocket League in the near future.

The Rocket League Twitter page said: “March Madness is just around the corner. Great time to tease the mode we’re working on next #RocketLeagueHoops”

The game already added a Hockey mode back in December to celebrate the cold Northern Hemisphere winter season. We’ll have to wait and see how this new basketball mode will play like in Rocket League when Psyonix announces more details.

From what we can gather from this sole screenshot, the goal will be raised so you cannot just roll the ball across the floor like in the traditional soccer style mode.

A new arena is also added that looks like a basketball court. It will be interesting to play this mode as it looks far more difficult to shoot the ball inside of a hoop.

It will also be interesting if Psyonix is able to add some NBA decals in the game as well. They managed to acquire the license to add the Batmobile from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice so anything is possible at this point.
