PQube has announced that the mystery-horror visual novel Chaos;Child will finally release in North America and Europe this fall. The game follows Takuru Miyashiro, a high school student who investigates a wave of gruesome murders that are happening around the city. Joining him in the adventure are his sister and the rest of members of the school newspaper.
The game is part of the same franchise of the acclaimed Steins;Gate, although their relation is more about the artstyle and gameplay rather than the story. The events of Chaos;Child happen years after those occurred in the previous game, Chaos;Head, although the titles don’t share protagonists and can be enjoyed individually. The anime version of Chaos;Child is currently available on Crunchyroll.
The narrative of Chaos;Child is determined by the delusions that the main character suffers regularly. Players can decide whether those dreams take a positive or negative turn, or neither, and each election affects the outcome of the story. The mystery and horror tone of the story makes up for a very unique and captivating experience, which will surely delight to the fans of the genre.
While we wait for a release date, check out the teaser trailer posted by PQube below.
