Treyarch has now given a reason why it is still releasing Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 on the older PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

Other games have started to ditch the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles already. We’ve seen this with recent releases like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Batman: Arkham Knight.

GamingBolt asked Treyarch’s Jay Puryear why Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is still coming out on the older hardware platforms.

Puryear just mentioned the series has “great fans” and that Treyarch wants to release the game to as many fans as possible. Even though many players have migrated to the PS4 and Xbox One consoles, there are still people out there playing on PS3 and Xbox 360.

Puryear said Treyarch is still going to push the game hard on PS4 and Xbox One. The team doesn’t want the older consoles to hold down the performance of the game on the newer plaforms.

Even though Call of Duty isn’t as popular as it was a few years ago, the series still manages to sell millions upon millions of copies each year.

Activision is not ready to alienate all of its fans so soon. Even Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5 and Guitar Hero Live will be available on PS3 and Xbox 360 too.
