Naughty Dog has now spoken out as to one of the reasons why the PS Vita’s Golden Abyss is not a part of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.

As reported by PowerUpGaming, Naughty Dog’s community strategist, Arne Meyer, had a presentation at EGX 2015. Meyer answered a question as to why Golden Abyss was snubbed in the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection.

Meyer said the game was in consideration, however Naughty Dog felt the core trilogy had the proper “particular narrative arc that led into Uncharted 4“. Since Golden Abyss is a spin-off, it strayed away from that a bit so they decided to leave it out unfortunately.

It is a little sad that Golden Abyss is being snubbed since it is the least played game in the series. More people have played the main three games since they were all released for the PS3. Golden Abyss is a PS Vita exclusive, and not many people own the PS Vita console.

343 Industries did something similar by leaving out Halo Reach in the Halo: The Master Chief Collection. However, that made sense since Master Chief wasn’t in Halo Reach. In Golden Abyss, Nathan Drake is still the playable main star of the game.
