The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt released nearly a year ago to widespread critical acclaim for most every part of the game. While some games released in the early part of the year may be forgotten about when it comes to awards, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has continued to take home award after award and its latest is one of the biggest yet.
This week the Game Developers Conference is being held in San Francisco, which also hosted the Game Developers Choice Awards last night. Plenty of games critically acclaimed games like Her Story and Rocket League took home awards, but The Witcher 3 took home the biggest of the night with their Game of the Year award.
The GDC Game of the Year award was a very competitive field this year, with the nominees being Bloodborne, Fallout 4, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Rocket League, and of course The Witcher 3.
Even with the stiff competition, CD Projekt RED’s latest masterpiece won out above the others for the biggest award of the night, which was a very well deserved honor for the game.
For those that just can’t get enough of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, the game’s second expansion, Blood and Wine, will be coming in the near future, though no set release date has been announced.
