GRIN Studio’s fairy tale themed title, Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries, has just launched on Steam’s Early Access. The developers took to the crowd funding website Kickstarter back in August 2014, to gain funding for their platforming based hack ‘n’ slash title. Since earning over 140% of their original funding goal, the team has been hard at work to bring the game to life. The team has decided that the time is right to get valuable feedback on the direction of the title, before Volume 1 is officially released on March 17th.
GRIN’s founder and CEO Wim Wouters revealed that the team is “looking forward to receiving valuable player feedback through Early Access so that we can deliver an exciting experience that Red would be proud of.”
Out now, Woolfe: The Red Hood Diaries certainly offers a twist on the regular Red Riding Hood story. Players will be taken on, what GRIN Studio describes as, a “rich, visual experience” where Red journeys alone after the death of her father. Offering 2.5D action platforming gameplay, the developers are attempting to break up the game by adding environmental puzzles. This should split up the hack ‘n’ slash filled sections, where Red must devastate multiple enemies to progress.
