WWE 2K17 Roster Might Not Be As High As 150 Wrestlers

When WWE 2K17 was first announced, 2K Games touted that the game has around 150 wrestlers. Several months later, 2K Games is clarifying its original statement.

WWE 2K17’s community manager, Bryan Vore, said this on the official forums: “The 150 number was part of early development coding on our interactive map and is not representative of the final roster list. However, we can ensure the WWE 2K17 roster will be the largest to date and encourage you to continue checking out official roster reveals each week – as part of the Suplex City Census – on IGN.

The good news is that the game will still have the largest roster in WWE video game history. WWE 2K16 had the largest roster in history when you added all of the DLC wrestlers. The launch roster was pretty large too, even though several wrestlers were still missing.

Sadly, WWE 2K17 will still have several wrestlers locked behind a DLC paywall. Shinsuke Nakamura, Nia Jax and Apollo Crews have to be bought in the NXT Edition of the game, or via DLC. Goldberg is only available if you pre-order the game. It’s unfortunate, but this is a sign of how business is done in the gaming industry today.
