WWE Tap Mania Releases for Mobile Devices

by Al McCarthy

Back in April SEGA announced that it would be partnering with the WWE to publish a new mobile game for mobile phones and tablets.  Today that game launched in WWE Tap Mania from The Tap Lab.  Available as a free download on the App Store for iPhone and iPad and the Google Play Store for Android devices, the game features in-app purchases.

As the name denotes, Tap Mania is a game that has players tapping on the screen to unleash signature moves from the WWE roster of wrestlers.  Featuring stars from the past and present, players must collect Superstar Cards which can be used to assemble a team of wrestlers.  These cards can be leveled up to increase power and characters can be customized, allowing for players to create signature moves to their liking.

WWE Tap Mania features well-known stars from the WWE such as: The Rock, John Cena, Triple H, Undertaker, Roman Reigns and others.  The latest mobile game featuring the WWE, this one has a unique art style that uses cartoon caricatures of the iconic athletes.

WWE Tap Mania is a fairly straight forward game from a gameplay standpoint.  You simply tap the screen to attack wrestlers until you make it to the main event.  Once you make it to the main event fights, your opponent is a little bit more difficult and requires that you utilize your skills as well as the Superstar cards that you’ve collected.  Progression elements for the game consist of earning new cards packs with new Superstars and leveling your character’s abilities.  Being a free to play game there’s plenty to purchase if you’re willing to spend.

Starter packs which include different Superstar cards, multi-tiered card packs, and in-game currency can all be purchased.  The game does also drop you free stuff once in a while if you’re willing to put in the time.  Spending just a short amount of time with Tap Mania, as expected, the better Superstar cards certainly aren’t given to you at the start of the game.
