For those of you that have seen X-Men: Apocalypse already, you’ll know that there is a post-credits scene. Here’s a few pointers to you let you know what it might be all about.

If you have not seen the movie yet, click away now as spoilers for X-Men: Apocalypse will be discussed. Just remember to stay until the very end as this scene starts after the credits have rolled. There’s no mid-credits scene like in Marvel films.

Anyway, in the middle of the film you would have seen Wolverine breaking out of William Stryker’s Weapon X facility. The place was pretty much left in shambles since Wolverine killed Stryker’s men even though Stryker himself escaped.

In the post credits scene, we see a team of men overseeing the damage that has been done and then a man picks up a blood sample of Weapon X. Weapon X is of course Wolverine so this means this man might be responsible for creating X-23 who is basically a female mutant with claws. Gamers might remember she is a playable character in Marvel vs Capcom 3.

The most interesting part is that the blood sample has been collected by the Essex Corporation. This relates to Nathaniel Essex who is better known in the comic books as the X-Men villain Mister Sinister. He might be the villain in the next movie that 20th Century Fox has planned. The timeline has been altered a lot thanks to Days of Future Past rebooting everything so anything can happen now. It could either lead to Wolverine 3, Gambit or the New Mutants movie.
