Microsoft recently announced that the Next Xbox will be revealed on May 21st, but all details about the new system are up in the air. Depending on who you are reading or listening to, the Xbox 720 might have a variety of different features, some good and some bad.
Microsoft will initially offer two pricing models for the console
Whether the console is always online or not, a big factor for would be purchasers of the next gen system will be price. Today, new speculation has pegged the price of the next-gen system, echoing previous rumors of a $500 base, with an option to finance the system through a two year Xbox Live Gold Agreement.
Technology blogger, Paul Thurrott says that “Microsoft will initially offer two pricing models for the console: a standalone version for $499 and a $299 version that requires a two-year Xbox LIVE Gold commitment at an expected price of $10 per month.”
Thurrott has also pegged the release date for the new hardware, giving it an early November launch date.
