Xbox One Backwards Compatibility List Adds Daytona USA and Two More

Ever since Microsoft first released Xbox One Backwards Compatibility as a standard feature for the console they have been quite good at adding new games to the service. What began as a small selection of old Xbox 360 games has grown to well over 300 titles, with more being added in chunks all the time. Last week saw four new games hitting the service, and today sees three more, headlined by the arcade classic Daytona USA.

The three games being added to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility list are Daytona USA, Stacking, and Tower Bloxx Deluxe. Not the usual AAA releases that fans get really excited for, but these are definitely nice to have as options for those that bought them on Xbox 360. Daytona USA is especially cool just due to the nostalgia factor, offering a really classic arcade racing experience that is missing in a lot of today’s games.

The Xbox One Backwards Compatibility list continues to grow like this, with sets of 2-5 games being put out on a near-weekly basis. Still, as well as Microsoft and their partners have done in bringing some big titles to the service, more are still highly requested from fans. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, for example, is almost always mentioned whenever the list expands like this. There’s still no word on that highly anticipated release, but with the original Black Ops already available, it wouldn’t be surprising to see it eventually.

Microsoft is not the only authority making these decisions though, so they have to work with the publisher and developer of the game to get it approved and ready to go. They used to hold off on releases for a set schedule, but now just put them out as soon as they are ready. Hopefully Black Ops 2 and other highly anticipated games are being worked on right now.
