As you look over the various “Games to look forward to in 2018” lists, you might notice something; a lot of anticipated games this year are either cross-platform games or PS4 exclusives. From the remake of Shadow of the Colossus to Detroit: Become Human to God of War to The Last of Us Part II, the PS4 is looking to have a pretty good year. The Xbox One, on the other hand, seems to be struggling lately when it comes to attracting players with exclusive titles. It’s hard to think of many Xbox One exclusive titles from last year other than Cuphead. Now, a new announcement seems to show Microsoft touting some of its exclusivity, and doing so most prominently with a particularly popular title.
It was recently revealed on the official blog of Major Nelson, a Director of Programming for Xbox Live, that on February 20, an Xbox One S bundle featuring the game Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds will be made available. The bundle comes with a 1 TB Xbox One S, a download code for PUBG, a two-week Xbox Live Gold trial and a 1-month Xbox Game Pass trial. Also littered throughout the post are mentions of other Microsoft-exclusive games, such as Forza Motorsport 7, Sea of Thieves, State of Decay 2 and Crackdown 3, further making the case that Microsoft can stand up to Sony in terms of console exclusives. This PUBG bundle will cost $299.99 and is currently available for pre-order.
