E3 2017 is looking like a very unique year for the long running game convention. Microsoft changed things up by shifting their usual E3 press conference to Sunday, revealing all of their news a day earlier than normal. And now we have word that this show will go longer than normal, pushing beyond the usual 90 minutes allotted for the Xbox E3 Media Briefing.
The news comes straight from Xbox head Phil Spencer who took to Twitter to say “Xbox briefing Sunday will likely run longer than our traditional 90 mins. For those recording just a heads up.” It doesn’t seem like it will be officially extended, so the show will likely go less than 15 or 30 minutes long. Still, it’s an important piece of info for those deciding how to watch the important show.
Xbox’s E3 2017 press conference is highly anticipated as Microsoft looks to unveil Project Scorpio. The “most powerful console of all time” has gotten a lot of fans excited. So far we have a decent amount of info about the upcoming console, but the finer points such as price, release date, and how much it will improve games has yet to be seen by the public.
What’s also important about this particular announcement is that Microsoft likes to hold a big surprise for right near the end of the show. If you aren’t prepared to go longer than the planned 90 minutes you might miss the big announcement, which could be Halo 6, or something equally huge.
The Xbox E3 2017 press conference will be live Sunday, June 11th at 2pm Pacific Time. To find out where and how to watch everything E3 related just click here.
