Yakuza Spin-Off Judgement Falls Upon The West This June

Sega has announced that Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s Yakuza spin-off, Judgement, is set to fall upon the West on June 25.

Set in the same universe as the critically-acclaimed Yakuza series, Judgement tells the tale of private detective Takayuki Yagami as he works to discover the secrets hidden within Kamurocho’s Red Light District. As you might expect, this means players will actually be on the side of the law this time around, meaning they will have to use investigative techniques — and not just beating people down — to progress.

Aside from which side of the law the protagonist falls, Judgement is notable for being the first game in the Yakuza series universe in 12 years to feature an English dub. Fortunately, for those who have grown accustomed to Japanese voices — or remember the dub from the original Yakuza on the PlayStation 2 — can freely switch between both audio settings at any point during the game.

Pre-orders for the physical version are already available. It’s worth noting that while players won’t be able to pre-order the digital versions until March 7, they do include early access to the game on June 21 (compared to the reversible cover featuring the Japanese box art and Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio sticker that comes with the physical version).

In the meantime, be sure to keep your ears open because Sega has promised more news come March 7.
