Yo-Kai Watch 3 for Nintendo 3DS has received a Japanese release date of 16th July and will come in two versions- Sushi and Tempura. No release date for North America or Europe has been confirmed.

Although the names are of Japanese foods, the game is said to take a lot of settings and themes from the US. The main protagonist experiences a move to St Peanutsburg, a fictional town located somewhere in the United States. Although different from his initial town of Sakura New Town, there are plenty of Yo-Kai to be caught. These Yo-Kai are said to have a more ‘American’ feel, down to their appearance and abilities.

There will also be two other protagonists in the new game by the names of Inaho Misora and USA-Pyon. These characters bring a different story to Keita, the original character, with Inaho still based in Sakura New Town and following a more detective style story.

Level 5 announced the new games via CoroCoro comic, and also gave a look at two new characters; Android Yamada from the new Rogue Tribe, and a Legend Yo-Kai by the name of Columbus for the Brave Tribe.

With the Japan release date now set, we can be sure to hear more developments as they arise.
