While the amiibo craze may have died down somewhat, the release of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has caused massive shortages of most of the Zelda line of figures. That shortage could be coming to an end though as it seems that Archer Link, Rider Link, and the Guardian Breath of the Wild amiibo should be restocked in stores some time soon.
We know this thanks to the release of new certification and safety info from Nintendo, which shows an additional month of production for the highly sought after amiibo figures. This means we should see a very big restock hitting stores some time soon. While this might not be enough to totally satisfy demand, and thus bring down the reseller prices that are quite high for these and many other Zelda figures, it should help a bit.
These and the other Zelda amiibo have been in extremely high demand ever since the release of Breath of the Wild. The collectible figures have been popular before, but mostly because fans wanted to own them all. These ones though actually have some significant bonuses in the newly released game.
Epona and various weapons, gear, and clothing are all locked behind the amiibo wall. Fans who want to relive their Ocarina of Time days, riding around on Epona’s back wearing the classic green tunic and hat, will need these and some other amiibo to make it real.
Let’s hope that this is just the beginning of the Zelda amiibo restocks. Perhaps the 30th anniversary line will get some extra production, along with the extremely rare Super Smash Bros. Zelda figures. Check back to see if that’s the case some time soon. Nintendo is still catching up on some amiibo demand, so they may take a while before they get to these ones, but Zelda is the hot ticket item right now.
