If you pre-order The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim you’ll get a “premium” physical copy of the game world that you can reference when making your way across the land.  Sure, you don’t have to pre-order the game to get a regular map (there will be one included), but the premium map is for pre-orders only.  The premium version of the map is said to have a similar feel to burlap and will be available to all of North America & Europe.

Todd Howard apparently is a firm believer in the player being able to hold a physical piece of the world in their hands.  When talking about Morrowind the director told fans:  “There’s something about having a physical object in your hands that feels like it’s part of this other world, that you are that person in the game, finding your way among the hills.”
