God of War IV announcement just around the corner?

Destination PlayStation Event may hold the answer.

According to Future Shop, a retailer that claims to have inside information about upcoming PlayStation 3 releases, God of War IV may be announced at an upcoming event held by Sony.  The retailer only, Destination PlayStation event that gives retailers a sneak peek at what’s coming for the console, is just around the corner.

The retailer alluded to the title announcement via Twitter.  According to the sleuths at NeoGaf, the retailer quickly removed the tweet that had mentioned God of War 4, adding more fuel to the fire.  Numerous job posting have been found in recent months that have pointed to a possibility of a God of War title on the way.  However, nothing has been confirmed by Sony or Santa Monica Studios where the game is rumored to be in development.

Hopeful gamers and internet detectives are predicting that Sony is set to reveal both God of War IV and a new Syphon Filter title.
