Fans of Kingdom Hearts got a little something to be excited about during the D23 Expo. A new trailer for Kingdom Hearts III has been released that features a load of new gameplay and announces the addition of Monsters, Inc.
This new trailer showcases Goofy, Donald, and Sora on an adventure in the world of Monsters, Inc. Those looking closely will find new monster forms for the characters, as well as new Keyblade attacks that have yet to be revealed. The official YouTube channel also confirms that there will be many returning friends and foes from previous games.
The trailer also seemingly confirms that the game will come out in 2018 for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The release date for Kingdom Hearts III has not yet been set, but multiple sources are confirming that E3 2018 will be the spot that Square Enix finally gives this long-awaited title a concrete date.
Kingdom Hearts III has been a long time coming. Square Enix has been kicking around ideas for Kingdom Hearts III as far back as 2006. They then confirmed the game’s existence at E3 2013, before going silent for quite some time only to return and reveal a 2018 release.
With this latest trailer having a bunch of gameplay to parse through, it’s looking very likely that Kingdom Hearts fans will finally get Kingdom Hearts III at the tail-end of this year.
