A new demo has been released for Yakuza 6, and thanks to some gameplay being shared we’re getting a closer a look at lots of new things being brought to the table for the latest entry in the series. Sega uploaded a video to YouTube with producer Toshihiro Nagoshi, which contains around 15 minutes of gameplay within an almost 43 minute video.
The gameplay for Yakuza 6 starts around the 25 minute mark of the video, but the best part happens around the 37 minute mark. The game’s protagonist, Kazuma Kiryu, innocently strolls into a convenience store where he is confronted by thugs, which results in a brawl. The awesome part is that all of the shelves are destructible, sending dozens of groceries flying around the store while you pummel your enemies.
Yakuza 6 is aiming for a Q3/Q4 release in Japan, though a US release date has not yet been given. The series recently launched a prequel called Yakuza 0 and a remake of the original called Yakuza: Kiwami in Japan, with US release dates given a vague window of 2017.
