After a horrendous launch on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, Aliens: Colonial Marines might not make it to the Wii U after all. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford was recently quizzed about where the game is and when it’s coming out, and the developer told Gamespot that SEGA is figuring it out.
“Sega’s got to figure that out,” the CEO said. “We’ll see,” when pressed for Wii U release date details.
Aliens: Colonial Marines was initially due to arrive on the Wii U later this month. However, from the sounds of Pitchford’s comments and complete lack of any publicizing of the game, it seems like this plan might have changed.
Aliens Colonial Marines saw a ton of fan backlash after releasing what many considered to be a substandard product. Most fan angst didn’t come from the game’s lacking quality, but in just how misrepresented the game was leading up to release by both press and videos that showed the game in a light that didn’t measure up to what was released at retail.
