A Missouri man waited 42 minutes for his Taco Bell order, then saw one teenage worker running the entire restaurant alone and raised her over $16,000

A Missouri man raised over $16,500 for a teenage Taco Bell worker after he witnessed her running an entire restaurant location by herself. Brad Bartow visited the fast food spot one evening and endured a 42 minute wait to receive his order. He documented the experience in a TikTok video that has reached hundreds of thousands of views.

As reported by BroBible, Bartow noticed the young employee performing every single task in the restaurant while a large line accumulated in the drive-thru and a group of men waited inside. He expressed his sympathy for the situation and noted her impressive demeanor during the rush. “She’s the only one working here, and look at this,” he said in his video. He also remarked, “I waited 42 minutes, and she’s in there all alone.”

The worker remained positive despite the intense pressure of the situation. Bartow noted her body language, saying, “And with a damn SMILE on her face.” Other customers in the restaurant attempted to step in to help the girl, but she declined the assistance to avoid potential trouble with her management. Bartow mentioned that he would have likely reacted differently in her position. “I would probably have walked out and just left the place open,” he shared.

She plans to purchase a car

Bartow felt moved to support the employee and asked for her Cash App information to send her money. She was initially hesitant and told him, “I have to call my boss.” Bartow believed the manager should have been contacted to provide the worker with more staff rather than for permission to accept a gift. He eventually succeeded in getting her information and started a GoFundMe page to collect donations from the public.

The fundraiser was a huge success and reached a total of $13,500. Bartow has been in contact with the worker’s family and shared that the teenager plans to use the money to purchase a vehicle. The family expressed their gratitude for the contributions from the community.

The video sparked a massive reaction from viewers who praised the worker for her dedication. One commenter wrote, “It takes a strong person to run a fast food place by themselves! This is so sweet. She deserves it all.” Another person who claimed to know the employee said, “I used to work with her. She’s a great kid! Unfortunately, that Taco Bell does stuff like that often.”

Many people focused their frustration on the management of the restaurant. Several viewers called for accountability regarding the staffing levels. One comment stated, “Her manager needs to be fired,” while another person noted, “How embarrassing for Taco Bell.” Some observers pointed out that the company has not issued a response regarding the incident.
