Star Wars Kinect Looks Buggy

Courtesy of the French gaming series, “Bamar En Live”, we now have the unfortunate obligation to post what looks to be the first showing of Star Wars Kinect gameplay, and thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we also have the game’s first details.

According to the report from EW, the game will include a variety of modes set in various corners of the Star Wars universe. It will feature a mode titled, “Jedi Destiny” where you play one of several new characters in a story that begins shortly after the events of Star Wars: Episode One: The Phantom Menace and concludes with Chancellor Palpatine’s rise to power in Star Wars: Episode Three: Revenge of the Sith. Up to two players will be able to use their Jedi powers to lift or throw objects by reaching out with a hand. Aside from wielding a lightsaber to slash droids and deflect lasers, other features to be included in the game are actions such as driving a pod-racer and manning the guns on an X-wing fighter.

It all sounds promising, though after watching this video from “Bamar En Live” that promise may not wind up amounting to much. The delayed controls aren’t as easy to spot as our friend Kudo waves his virtual lightsaber, but as soon as he jumps, his Jedi counterpart takes at least a good second to do the same. Nothing is more frustrating than an unresponsive player-controlled character and when you’re up against the might of the Sith, I would assume it would be even more so.

You can watch the video below. Let’s hope the game is still in the early stages of development, but on the bright side, Disneyland Adventures is looking pretty slick:
