Even before its official unveiling at E3 earlier this year, everybody knew the next grand entry in the Uncharted series would be coming to PlayStation 4 in the near future from Naughty Dog. Naturally, to kick off the PlayStation Experience keynote, now PlayStation president Shawn Layden introduced gamers to the first official gameplay demo of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.
Taking control of Nathan Drake in what is said to be his final chapter, the player starts off on cliffside above a massive valley. At this point, Drake heads into a cave full of water as he follows dangling skeletons from the ceiling in search of some sort of treasure it appears.
The small cave quickly leads him to a much more open area that just shows the grand scale that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is really going for this time. The camera panning to see how large the area truly is really makes one excited for how big this game could be.
The gameplay looks as smooth as ever, with environments looked absolutely phenomenal in action as Drake traverses through the cave. There is no doubt that Naughty Dog is taking full advantage of the capabilities of the PlayStation 4 with this game. The game did suffer what seemed to be one glitch when the person in control fell, but that at least shows this was a live demo and now just pre-made to show everything perfect with the game.
