Sony has now released system software update 3.60 for the PS Vita version. It’s a small update so you don’t have to wait that long in order to download and install it.
It only took me 4 minutes to download the new PS Vita update so those with a faster Wi-Fi connection should be able to get it in no time.
There was no information on what the new update does, but it could just be for more stability. It might also be to support the new 3.50 update that came out for the PS4 today as well.
It’s also worth mentioning that I have been playing around with my PS Vita for several minutes and everything seems to be fine. There were problems with a previous PS Vita update, and some fans were agitated about it. I can say that the new update is safe to download so don’t worry about it ruining your console.
It will be interesting to see how much longer Sony plans to support the PS Vita system. Many of its apps have already dropped support and no new first-party video games are being made. Not to mention PS4 Remote Play is now possible on the PC and Mac so you don’t need a Vita anymore for that feature.
