Capcom has announced that it will take down the Street Fighter 5 servers temporarily in order to do some maintenance on them. This is essential considering how annoying playing online can be at this point in time.
The Street Fighter 5 server Twitter page announced: “We will be bringing down the servers for 3 hours of scheduled maintenance on Monday 2/22, 1pm PST. We will be back online by 4pm PST.”
Thankfully, the maintenance is being done during the hours when most North Americans will be at school or work. Not to mention 3 hours is not too long to wait. The day and time will be different for other countries so make sure to convert the times above.
Server maintenance for the game is crucial as connecting online has been frustrating ever since it came out last Tuesday. The servers have been pretty shoddy for both PS4 and PC gamers so hopefully tomorrow’s maintenance will make the online experience a little better.
The things they need to work on is decreasing the amount of time it takes to connect to a match. They also need to address disconnection issues as the servers sometimes drop out in the middle of gameplay. Further update patches down the road will also help improve other gameplay areas.
Update: Capcom just revealed it is extending the maintenance for one more hour via Twitter: “We are extending our maintenance for an extra hour. We will be back up by 5pm PST. Thank you for your patience.”
Update 2: Another twitter update: “We are extending our maintenance indefinitely. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to reopen ASAP.”
