The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt seems to have been met with critical praise thus far, but since it’s launch the other day the internet has been flooded with reports of glitches and what appears to be a spread of other issues. The latest comes in the way of a glitch that has hit players at the very beginning of the game.
It seems that players who own the PlayStation 4 version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt have been turning it on, patching it after the day one patch and watching the opening unskippable cutscene which then causes them to be stuck in loading limbo indefinitely.
The issue seems to be pretty widespread as there have been reports on Reddit, GameFaqs and even Twitter that affects both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, the issue seems more widespread on PlayStation 4. Some fans believe it was the game not installing fully, but according to a workaround posted by Reddit user zuozas that wouldn’t be the case. The workaround he proposed is the following:
“Option 1: Delete the game > Reinstall > In menu selecting “new game” – do not upload previews witcher game progress. Option 2: Delete the game > Reinstall > pause 1.02 update download > start the game > go through tutorial > Close the game > Download update > Play the game :)”
According to several users on the Reddit they attempted the workaround and it has worked for quite a few of them. If simply foregoing a patch is causing the issue to be resolved then it might be that patch that caused it in the first place. Â We shall see as more and more fans get their hands on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt if the issue persists or if a second patch is issued by CD Projekt Red for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is now available on Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4.
