Last week Dark Souls II was announced for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.  Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like From Software has any plans for a Wii U version of the game.

Fans of the franchise have formed an online petition to bring Dark Souls II to Nintendo’s first HD console.  Launching a short while ago, the petition has already seen roughly 7000 signatures in support of this effort.  Previous petitions to Namco Bandai have worked for the Dark Souls franchise.  Earlier this year, fans formed a petition in an attempt to bring Dark Souls to PC, and it worked.  Gamers got their wish when the PC version released shortly thereafter.

Will it work again?  Petitioners are pointing to numerous reasons why its a good idea to bring Dark Souls II to the Wii U, and they range from GamePad possibilities, to online affordability.  The petition is looking to gather 100,000 signatures before presenting the interest to the game’s publisher.
