‘I Would Certainly Imagine’: Donald Trump Just Called For The Prosecution Of Two More People, Based On Documents That Don’t Seem To Exist

He wants them behind bars.

President Donald Trump wants his political enemies to face criminal charges. His latest targets are Christopher Wray, who used to lead the FBI, and Merrick Garland, who was the Attorney General before. Trump made these demands in a Truth Social post that included false statements about the 2020 election.

According to MSNBC, Trump talked about documents that he says prove the Biden Justice Department tracked phone calls between the White House and Republican senators. He said the department recorded these calls, but he offered no proof. He used this claim to say that Wray, Garland, Jack Smith, and Lisa Monaco should be prosecuted.

About a month before this, someone asked Trump if the Justice Department should look into Wray. Trump said, “I would imagine. I would certainly imagine. I would think they are doing that.” He told reporters that Wray did wrong things when he ran the FBI.

This Keeps Getting Worse

In his Friday night post, Trump said these four people spied on Congress members and recorded their calls. He also said they rigged the 2020 election. Trump wrote, “These Radical Left Lunatics should be prosecuted for their illegal and highly unethical behavior!”

The big problem is that none of what Trump said is true. No one spied on Congress or recorded their calls. The 2020 election was fair and honest. Three of the four people Trump named were not working in government on Election Day 2020, so they could not have done anything to the election.

Trump keeps adding more names to his list. Nine days before his social media post, he met with top law enforcement officials in the Oval Office. He told the Attorney General, Deputy Attorney General, and FBI Director to go after Smith, Monaco, and Andrew Weissmann. He then said he wants them to look at Senator Adam Schiff too.

What makes this scary is that Trump’s Justice Department actually does what he says. They have started investigations and brought charges against people Trump does not like. This means we cannot just ignore what Trump says. The president’s relationship with his inner circle has also been under scrutiny, with recent revelations about his dynamic with key allies raising questions about his decision-making process.

A few weeks ago, Trump told Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate three people he called “guilty as hell.” He did not say what crimes they did. He also wants a federal investigation into his loss in Georgia five years ago.

Trump’s claims are full of lies and wrong information. But the real worry is that his team listens to him. Members of Trump’s cabinet have been making their own controversial statements as they work to align with the administration’s messaging. When Trump demands that people be charged with crimes based on fake documents and false stories, his officials are ready to do it. That is why every new demand matters, even when it sounds crazy.
