NYC man allegedly pushes stranger onto subway tracks in brutal attack, and the suspect’s arrest record is almost impossible to believe

A man from New York City is in trouble with the law again after he allegedly hurt several people in Lower Manhattan. One of the victims was pushed onto subway tracks. The man accused of these attacks is 33-year-old Clive Porter, and police arrested him on Wednesday.

According to Fox News, the worst attack happened around 4 p.m. at a subway station on Bowery and Delancey Street. Police say Porter hit a 45-year-old man in the face so hard that the man fell onto the tracks. Luckily, the victim was able to climb back up to the platform by himself. He went to get medical help for his swollen eye.

The really shocking part of this story is how many times Porter has been arrested before. Reports say he has been arrested 61 times for felonies, 24 times for misdemeanors, and once for a violation. That adds up to 86 total arrests before this week.

This guy’s criminal record raises some serious questions

Wednesday was a busy day for Porter, according to police. They say his first attack happened around 9:40 in the morning when he punched a 72-year-old man in the face. The punch was so hard that it broke the older man’s nose. Only two minutes later, Porter allegedly went after another victim on Canal Street. This time, he punched a 33-year-old Asian man in the head, and the man fell to the ground.

Police also say Porter stole from an elderly Asian woman and attacked another elderly woman near Forsyth Street and East Broadway. When he pushed the man onto the subway tracks later that day, witnesses say Porter shouted an anti-Asian slur before running away. This comes as other concerning incidents have been reported across New York City.

“Officers conducted a canvass of the area with the victim and took an individual into custody without further incident,” an NYPD spokesperson said in a statement. After catching Porter, police figured out he was connected to the four other attacks from earlier that same day.

Now Porter is facing charges for assault as a hate crime, reckless endangerment, and harassment. But getting arrested is nothing new for him.

Earlier this month, police say he was involved in two different incidents where he threatened people with a knife. In one case, he allegedly punched someone and pulled out a knife in midtown Manhattan. That same day, police say he threatened someone else with a knife in Times Square.

Even with all these accusations, Porter was let go with supervised release both times. The reason is that the assault charges were misdemeanors, which means judges could not set bail for him. This reminds me of other criminal cases that have shocked communities across the country.
