A DoorDash driver in Arizona found something interesting while he was picking up food orders from McDonald’s. He spotted a big cardboard box sitting near the restaurant’s dumpster. According to Bro Bible, the driver uses the name @usernamewetnoodles on TikTok. He posted a video showing what he found, and more than 2.1 million people have watched it. In the video, he looks pretty excited about finding the box. He told his followers to join him later on a live stream so they could watch him peel the stickers and see what prizes he might win.

But a lot of people watching the video think he might have messed up someone else’s plan. One person joked that he was about to have so many free apple pies. Another person pointed out the suspicious location of the box, writing that it was placed by the trash can. Some viewers suspected the worst, with one writing that not a single game piece will be the one he needs. Another commenter suggested that the employees are looking for the box after their shift.

Finding a whole box of McDonald’s Monopoly pieces makes people think about one of the biggest scams in the history of promotional games. From 1995 to 2001, a man named Jerome P. Jacobson stole more than $24 million worth of cash and prizes from the McDonald’s Monopoly game.

Jacobson had a job with Simon Marketing, the company that created the game pieces for McDonald’s. He was supposed to stop employees from stealing the pieces.

Instead, he did the opposite. He would secretly take out the winning pieces and replace them with regular ones. Then he would sell those winning pieces to people he knew for $45,000 to $50,000 each, even when some of them were worth as much as $1 million.

The FBI started looking into things in 2000 after someone told them that too many winners were coming from the same areas. They caught Jacobson and seven other people involved in August 2001. In the end, more than 50 people got in trouble for being part of the scam. Jacobson had to spend 37 months in prison and pay back more than $12.5 million.

McDonald’s brought back the Monopoly game in October 2025 after not having it for 10 years. This time around, people could win everything from free food to $1 million in cash. The game was supposed to end on November 2, so the driver probably found this box after everything was already over.

That might explain why it was sitting by the dumpster, but it still seems weird that there were so many unused game pieces in it. While this driver stumbled upon game pieces by accident, some TikTokers have found other clever ways to score free McDonald’s food.

People are now wondering if the driver or any McDonald’s employee could get in trouble because of this. So far, neither McDonald’s nor the driver has said anything publicly about what happened or what will happen to all those game pieces.
