Trump released the first renderings of his presidential library, and it includes a gold Oscar-like statue of himself and escalators to match

No books in sight, though

Eric Trump unveiled a video teaser showing the planned presidential library for his father, President Donald Trump. The video gives the first look at a towering Miami skyscraper that Eric Trump says he has worked on for six months. The video appears to be AI-generated.

The skyscraper is shown dominating the Miami skyline, with the “Trump” name near the top. Visitors are shown entering through a grand golden arch adorned with the presidential seal. Inside, the building features exhibits including replicas of White House landscapes and references to Trump’s political journey.

One of the most eye-catching features is at least two oversized golden statues of the president. One, inside a large auditorium, shows Trump with his fist raised, a pose referencing the July 2024 assassination attempt on his life in Butler, Pennsylvania. The statue has an Oscar-like appearance, states Huffpost.

The library is packed with Trump references, from golden escalators to a Presidential Walk of Fame

The video on X, also shows visitors riding a golden escalator, a nod to Trump’s famous descent when he announced his first presidential campaign. Other features include a gilded Oval Office replica, a Rose Garden replica, and a “Presidential Walk of Fame” on the West Colonnade. The library also plans for a large ballroom, a concept that has already drawn attention, much like Trump’s $400M White House ballroom that sparked criticism from architects.

A large Air Force One jet is also featured in the renderings. Trump has previously said a Qatari jet being converted into Air Force One would “go directly” to his presidential library after he leaves office. However, the plane shown in the video uses the current baby blue and white color scheme, not the red, white, gold, and dark blue design Trump selected for future planes.

The video also contains several noticeable flaws. In one scene, a golden escalator appears over a wing of the Air Force One, but is missing in other shots of the same aircraft. In another shot, the text on the side of the plane that should read “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA” appears garbled. Notably, the video shows no books anywhere in the building, which has drawn criticism given that presidential libraries are traditionally associated with historical archives.

The library’s funding has also come under scrutiny. Senator Elizabeth Warren raised ethical concerns about its financing, noting that major US companies including Meta, X, Disney, and Paramount have pledged tens of millions of dollars to the library. Warren pointed to potential bribery and influence-peddling, noting that many donations came as settlements to lawsuits filed by Trump while he holds office.

This comes amid broader questions about Trump’s foreign policy decisions and their financial implications, including a recent report on Iran’s surging oil profits despite US pressure. The Miami Herald reported the library’s nonprofit foundation plans to raise $1 billion for the project.

Eric Trump, who heads the library’s foundation, promoted the renderings on social media, calling it “a lasting testament to an amazing man, an amazing developer, and the greatest President our Nation has ever known.” The chosen site is 2.63 acres next to the Miami Freedom Tower, a historic location that served as a processing center for Cubans fleeing communism in the 1960s.

The land was deeded to the foundation by the State of Florida through a Cabinet vote in 2025. White House spokesperson Davis Ingle said the “Trump Presidential Library will be one of the most magnificent buildings in the world and a living testament to the indelible impact President Trump has made on America and its people.”
