Matt Gaetz, President Donald Trump’s first pick for U.S. Attorney General, recently claimed he was briefed on a secret alien breeding program while serving in office. The former Florida representative shared these details on The Benny Show with right-wing influencer Benny Johnson.
Gaetz revealed that a uniformed U.S. Army officer came to his office in Florida to brief him on what he called “hybrid breeding programs.” According to Gaetz, this “senior-enlisted” service member, who he described as a whistleblower, told him that captured aliens were breeding with humans. The stated purpose of creating this “hybrid race” was to allow government officials to communicate across galaxies.
According to The Independent, Gaetz also explained that the humans involved in this alleged military program were not volunteers. He claimed they had been “abducted from war zones” and taken from “caravans of migrants.” He added that members of his staff were present during this meeting, which he described as occurring in a “non-classified setting.”
The whistleblower’s claims remain unverified, and Gaetz himself admitted he did no fact-checking
According to Gaetz, the whistleblower said there were between six and twelve facilities involved in this alleged breeding program. The officer’s goal in briefing Gaetz and other members of Congress was to get them to physically appear at these facilities, with the idea that congressional presence would stop the activities from being moved to even more secret locations. Gaetz himself conceded that he did not verify any of the whistleblower’s claims.
This is not the first time Gaetz has made headlines. In November 2024, President Trump nominated him for U.S. Attorney General, but Gaetz later withdrew from consideration amid public debate over unproven allegations that he had sexual relations with a 17-year-old. His withdrawal was part of a pattern of failed White House nominations that made the administration look disorganized. Gaetz has consistently denied all wrongdoing and has not been charged with any crime.
The Trump administration has shown notable interest in the possibility of extraterrestrial life. The administration registered the domain name “Aliens.gov,” and in February, President Trump directed the Pentagon to release files related to UFOs, citing “tremendous interest” from the public. He told reporters aboard Air Force One, “I don’t know if they’re real or not.”
According to Huffpost, Lara Trump reportedly claimed the president had a speech in the works to announce the existence of extraterrestrials at the “right time.” However, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that “a speech on aliens would be news to me.” Vice President JD Vance also commented, telling Benny Johnson that he thinks what most people call ETs or aliens are “demons anyway, but that’s a longer discussion.”
Former President Obama previously described aliens as “real” on the No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen podcast, but added that he had not personally seen them and that they were not being held in an “underground facility” during his presidency.
On Instagram, he later clarified that he “saw no evidence during my presidency that extraterrestrials have made contact with us,” suggesting instead that the vastness of the universe makes it likely that aliens exist somewhere. President Trump accused Obama of revealing classified information on the subject and said he “may get him out of trouble by declassifying” the information himself.
Gaetz has also recently drawn attention for his comments on Iran, where he broke with Trump over the Iran war at CPAC, stating that sending ground troops into Iran would make the U.S. “poorer and less safe.” The White House and the Department of Defense have been contacted for comment regarding Gaetz’s claims about the alien breeding program, but no official response has been released yet.
