This woman murdered her ex-husband after a bitter divorce and custody battle, and his happy second marriage may have fueled the motive

Right after he finally found peace!

Marriage is an important bond between individuals, but we’ve seen these bonds shatter. However, in rare cases, problems persist afterward, leading one party to take an extreme step. Similar to a man killing his wife and her lover, another horrific case took place in Oregon when a woman killed her former husband just because she was jealous of the fact that he was happy with his second marriage.

According to People, Reina Jackson, the former wife of a Navy veteran named Dr. Craig Jackson, took his life. Per the Department of Justice, Reina was convicted of second-degree murder on 24th April, after a three-week trial. Her ex-husband was reportedly shot and killed in a home invasion at his North Bend home early in the morning; now Reina is held accountable.

Attorney General Dan Rayfield weighed in on this terrifying case, saying Craig was a Navy veteran and physician at Bay Clinic in Coos Bay, who “served his country, built a career dedicated to caring for people, and was building a new life for himself and his daughter. What happened to him was brutal and calculated. His family deserved justice, and the sentence reflects the gravity of what was done.”

Reina Jackson conspired with accomplices and attempted to flee the country

Even though Reina has been given the sentence, she tried her best to avoid justice by fleeing from the country. She conspired with two other attackers to orchestrate the attack at Craig, and after doing that, she took her daughter and fled the country to Guatemala. But as she returned to Florida, she was taken into custody and put on trial, securing a life sentence.

Prosecutors reported that the killing took place when a “contentious divorce and custody dispute [that] had spanned years.”  The poor man, who finally had peace with his second marriage, nearly won the case for the custody of his daughter, with Reina trying to take control. But after the murder, she took her daughter along with her. It looks like the whole fiasco of killing revolved around Craig’s new life and his legal win against his former wife.

Following an assistant principal’s shooting, for which her husband was accused, Craig’s case is one of those examples where a relationship has taken a shocking turn. As far as Reina is concerned, she will serve her life in jail for committing a heinous murder over jealousy with a husband she filed for divorce with.
