President Donald Trump recently declared that he prevented a nuclear attack against the United Kingdom, despite the British government declining to assist in his ongoing military campaign against Iran. This offensive against the Gulf state has now reached its sixth month, with United Nations estimates suggesting that up to 10,000 people have died since the conflict began.
As reported by the LadBible, during an interview with GB News anchor Bev Turner, the President explained his perspective on the necessity of this intervention. He said: “I’m saving your country from the threat too. Because if Iran had a nuclear weapon, they’re more likely to use it in Europe, where they do have missile capability, than they are in America, where they don’t.” He further emphasized his position by stating, “I’m saving your country from a problem because they would use it.”
The conflict has created significant global economic ripples, particularly due to the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz. Before hostilities erupted, this waterway facilitated the transport of approximately 20 million barrels of oil per day. The decision to strike Iran resulted in a notable spike in petrol prices and caused widespread economic disruption.
He says the UK didn’t help him
The President expressed clear frustration regarding the UK’s lack of involvement, specifically criticizing former Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer for refusing to grant access to British airbases during the initial attack last February. He reminded the British public of their reliance on the region for energy resources.
He noted, “Don’t forget, you get a big percentage of your oil from the Strait of Hormuz, and you weren’t there to help me.” This tension has escalated further, as the President hinted earlier that he might withdraw American support for British sovereignty over the Falkland Islands.
Beyond the military and energy disputes, the President took the opportunity to critique the domestic state of the UK. He characterized the country’s immigration and energy policies as a disaster, warning that the nation faces a risk of losing its identity if current trends continue.
He also directed sharp criticism toward London Mayor Sadiq Khan. He said, “I mean, if you go through London, London’s a much different place. You have a terrible mayor. He’s a nasty guy, nasty person. He’s a very bad mayor.”
The President claimed that London has suffered a radical decline, citing issues with high crime and areas where he alleges police are afraid to operate. He stated, “London’s a very different place than if you took somebody from 15 or 20 years ago and brought them through London, they wouldn’t know what happened. Such a different place.”
These comments drew a swift response from a source close to the London mayor. The source reportedly remarked: “Sadiq is still living rent-free in Trump’s head. The guy is obsessed with him. Crime rates are down all across London, with violent crime lower than in every major US city. London is a diverse, multi-cultural and thriving global city – the best city in the world. Trump just can’t comprehend our success.”
