Atari founder Nolan Bushnell believes that Microsoft will win the next generation for a number of reasons. The industry veteran personally believes that Redmond is a superior position due to Sony’s shortcomings, rather than Microsoft’s strengths.

“I personally believe Microsoft is in a superior position,” said Bushnell in a recent interview with Game Trailers. “The reason is Sony, whenever they change consoles, the software tools that they have are lame.”

“Microsoft, because of their strong software tools, will end up with much better products sooner and easier, in my estimation,” said Bushnell.

Bushnell raises valid points in this recent interview, but, Sony’s marketing message since February has been that this console will be more developer friendly. One would assume that they would be covering this aspect of the development process as well. While Bushnell’s message may be valid when looking at previous consoles from Sony, we’ll have to wait and see if Sony makes the same mistakes again with the PS4 when it releases this holiday season.
