Blizzard has announced the first expansion for Diablo III, it shall be known as Diablo III: Reaper of Souls. Â The expansion will introduce a new Crusader class to the mix, bringing class count to six in all. Â Base level cap will be increased to 70, and the Reaper of Souls Expansion will see a new act added to the game.
Blizzard relayed the news during their Gamescom 2013 press conference. Â The new content is said to revolve around Malthael, the angel of death, and his seizing control of the black soulstone (and Diablo’s Soul). Â The expansion will bring one full act to Diablo III players.
Reaper of Souls is promised to be darker than vanilla Diablo III, including new monsters, and areas. Â The expansion will also ship with refinements to the Diablo III loot system. Â The new logic in place for Loot drops in the new system will make it more likely that the items you pick up will be useful for your class. Â Blizzard is looking to cut down on overall clutter of invaluable loot, so there will be less overall drops.
