Sledgehammer Games has confirmed that Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will indeed run at the franchise’s established 60fps benchmark, but will it hit 1080p native? Â It looks like Sledgehammer Games isn’t ready to tell, or doesn’t know just yet.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare developers Sledgehammer Games say they are happy with how development is going leading up to launch, but in a recent interview with Total Xbox, producer Mike Mejia says that the team is still optimizing the game, and isn’t ready to make a declaration on the game’s resolution.
“We’re still waiting for announcements to come out in terms of where we’re at with the resolutions,” says Mejia. Â “I can tell you that the three year development title that we’ve had, working with everyone involved to make sure that we’re getting it right.” Â Mejia claims “we are still optimizing the game, but even with where we’re at right now, we’re really happy. Â We’re ahead of where we were last year, and we still have time, we still have a couple of months to go.”
Time will tell if the additional time has paid off for Advanced Warfare. Â The Gamescom reveal of the shooter was received positively by the Call of Duty community in general. Â Though after releasing PS4 and Xbox versions of Call of Duty: Ghosts last year that weren’t quite on par with each other, it will be interesting to see if Microsoft’s freeing of GPU resources will allow Advanced Warfare to reach a higher level of fidelity than Ghosts did as an Xbox One launch title.
