It appears that Minecraft arriving on the PlayStation 4 has been delayed, slightly. 4J Studios has announced that issues have come up during the certification process that will likely delay the game as it will need to go through the process again.
Over a week ago, 4J announced that they had handed Minecraft PS4 Edition to Sony for a final test. Today however, they revealed that Sony had discovered issues with the final code.
“Sony found some issues we have to fix in their final test of Minecraft PS4. We’re fixing, but we need to go through the process again,” reads a tweet from the developer.
It still looks like the PS4 version of Minecraft will arrive ahead of the PS Vita and Xbox One versions of the game. A short while ago, 4J revealed that they were still working away and squashing bugs on those two versions of the game, and would have details to share shortly.
When Minecraft finally does arrive on the PlayStation 4 the new version of the game will cost $19.99. However, if you already own the game on PlayStation 3, you can upgrade for $4.99 if you’ve bought the game digitally.
We’ll have to wait and see if Minecraft PS4 Edition ends up making it out to PlayStation 4 owners by the end of August as it was intended.
