This is devastating news if it turns out to be true. Apparently Rockstar is having trouble porting Grand Theft Auto V to PC and it could be cancelled altogether.
At E3 2014, it was announced a prettier version of Grand Theft Auto V will be released for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It looks like the PS4 and Xbox One versions are still scheduled to be released later this year, but this new rumor suggests the PC version may not see the light of day thanks to “corporate problems”.
This news comes courtesy of Fox Weekly who spoke with John Hoffberger. Hoffberger is the Chairman of “Rantic”. Rantic is a marketing firm founded Brad Cockingham who is the Marketing Director of Rockstar North.
Anyway according to the comments made by Hoffberger, it looks like Grand Theft Auto V on the PC is a no-go. He claims the PS4 and Xbox One versions are “intact”, but the PC versions of the game is “agitating for Rockstar staff”. Due to “corporate problems”, he feels the PC version could be cancelled altogether.
Hoffberger even said Rockstar never wanted a PC version of Grand Theft Auto V to start off with. He said Rockstar was forced to port the game due to “high public demand”.
Rockstar itself has yet to officially make a statement on the status of Grand Theft Auto V on PC. Until then, takes this news as a rumor. A rumor that is sad if it turns out true.
